  • Direct and oversee effective execution of tactical and operational segments of sales plans for all products and services within the Commercial Area – teams and Franchisees.
  • Maintain effective, ongoing communication with Regional Managers Channel Sales team, and Regional Service center and Connect shop Supervisors & Regional Network Service Team.
  • Champion the capability planning, development and Innovation needs of Regional Sales and Distribution teams and ensure sustainable growth of the region.
  • Implement and drive Regional MoMo KPIs and ensure regional targets are met. Ensure effective distribution and availability of Airtime and MoMo float in trade.
  • Ensure robust Agent management, segmentation, performance tracking, recognition, and compliance with the unique ID as per regulatory guidelines.
  • Effective performance management of Freelancers, Agents, and TDRs through daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly performance evaluation
  • Onboard new sales channels in all the regions and achieve the set targets.
  • Strategically implement aggressive initiatives that will increase the inflow of Gross adds across the country as per set targets and ensure consistent Market and Value share growth.
  • Manage the distribution of Trade materials /Merchandising and enhance brand visibility nationally.
  • Monitor Network quality performance in the regions and report gaps to the Network team to resolve. Lead all network related discussions relevant to the Commercial Area
  • Implement channel-based Data and Digital acceleration programs and roll out SMART phone penetration initiatives to achieve 50% penetration. 
  • Maintain a high level of morale and proficiency among all team members in the Western, Northern & Southern Region. 
  • Act as the key point of contact between MTN Rwanda cell and its Subscriber base for all Regional commercial related activities.
  • Contribute and direct sales planning and responsible for achieving regional sales targets, analyzing results versus target and developing initiatives to bridge the gap, influence, and direct sales strategy.
  • Responsible for delivering MTN field capability and tactics in the assigned region.
  • Develop and execute high value commercial strategies for Sales & Distribution in the Western, Northern and Southern Region.
  • Set goals and objectives for direct reports, monitor progress and maintain motivation. Cascade targets all team members and periodic reporting of performance and execution of actions agreed.
  • Manage the performance of team members with regular appraisals and mentoring.
  • Determine resource and logistic requirements of the Staff and regular review of logistic and resource needs of the region.
  • Coach, mentor and determine training/development needs of team members.
  • Maintain professional working relationships with stakeholders, field, and cross functional personnel, as well as customers and industry partners and constant engagement of stakeholders.
  • Oversee Commercial activities in the assigned region. Lead Regional War room discussions and involve stakeholders from Marketing, Network, EBU, HR, and MoMo to ensure full alignment with clear actions and timelines. 
  • Manage overall Franchisee performance ensuring growth in Working capital invested, positive Return on Investment, Field resource assessment and deployment and robust distribution infrastructure to fully manage operations in the assigned Territory. Also, help build capability of Franchisees and their teams via training and mentoring.

Job Requirements

Education:

A master’s degree in commerce, Sales, Marketing, or a related field.

Experience:

5 years of outstanding performance in Sales management. With at least 3 years in a managerial role.

  • IT literacy.

  • Ability to manage self and be a team player, good conflict management, take and manage accountability.
